Privacy Policy
Last updated September 1, 2026
Don’t Peek ("we", "our", or "the app") is a two-player code-guessing game made by Culi Studio. It is built around a simple privacy rule: there is no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics, and no server of ours - we do not operate one.
Matches are stored on the phone they are played on. Online play and purchases go through Apple’s own services, which we cannot see into. This policy explains the little the app handles and your rights.
Private by Design
Don’t Peek works fully offline for pass-and-play and CPU matches, with no account and no sign-up. Player names, secret codes, guess history and match progress are stored locally on your device. There is no Culi Studio server, so there is nothing for us to receive, read or store.
Data Stored on Your Device
- The current match: the two first names you typed, both secret codes, the guess history and whose turn it is - kept so the app can resume after an interruption.
- Progress counters: how many matches you have completed and whether onboarding has been seen.
- Your settings: haptics, sound, and the Blitz timer toggle.
- Daily mode state: your guesses against the day’s shared code, kept in a local file that resets at UTC midnight.
- Whether the one-time full-game unlock has been purchased.
Secret Codes
Secret codes exist so the other player on the couch cannot see them - not because they are sensitive data. They are stored only inside the saved match on your device, they are never logged, and they are shown on screen only after the match ends. Ending a match from the menu deletes them with it.
No Analytics, No Ads, No Tracking
Don’t Peek contains no third-party analytics, attribution or advertising SDKs. We do not measure how you play, how often you open the app, or who wins. There are no advertising identifiers and no tracking across apps or websites.
The Daily Code
The shared Daily code is not downloaded from anywhere - it is derived on your device from the current UTC date, which is how every phone in the world agrees on the same code without a server existing. Playing the Daily sends nothing to anyone. If you choose to share your result, the share card contains a grid of your locks and misses, never the digits, and it is shared through the standard iOS share sheet you control.
Online Play and Game Center
Online 1v1 uses Apple’s Game Center turn-based matchmaking. If you open the Online screen, iOS may ask you to sign in to Game Center; pass-and-play and CPU modes never trigger that prompt. Match data - the codes and guesses of that online match - travels between the two players through Apple’s Game Center service and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Culi Studio does not run any server in this exchange and cannot read your matches. Your Game Center nickname is visible to your opponent, as in any Game Center game.
Purchases
The full game is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never receive or store your name, email, payment details or Apple Account credentials - only an anonymous entitlement indicating whether the game is unlocked. Restore Purchases works on any device signed into the same Apple Account.
What We Never Collect
- No accounts, email addresses or passwords - there is nothing to sign up for.
- No analytics, usage tracking or behavioural profiling.
- No advertising identifiers, no ads, and no data sold, rented or shared with third parties.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library access - the app never requests these permissions.
Third-Party Services
- Apple Game Center - matchmaking and turn delivery for Online 1v1 only, under Apple’s privacy policy.
- Apple StoreKit - processes the one-time purchase and manages the entitlement.
- That is the complete list. Don’t Peek integrates no analytics, advertising or backend services of any kind.
Children’s Privacy
Don’t Peek is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from any user, including children. The only personal data that exists is the first names typed into a pass-and-play match, and they never leave the device. The app contains no chat, no ads, and no external links on any game screen. Online play requires Game Center, which is managed through the device’s Apple Account and parental controls.
Deleting Your Data
Ending a match from the menu deletes its names, codes and history. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally. Game Center match history and your Game Center profile are managed through your Apple Account settings. Because there is no server copy of ours, there is nothing else for us to delete and no data request for you to file.
