Privacy Policy

Private by Design

Little Lapse works entirely on your device. No sign-up or email is required, and your bump photos, reflections, and journey are never uploaded to our servers. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected" for your content — the only data associated with the app is the anonymous purchase receipt Apple processes if you buy the Keepsake Unlock.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

• Bump photos you capture or add from your library, and their week/date assignments.
• Your due date or current pregnancy week.
• Private reflections and notes you write.
• Reminder preferences (day, time, on/off, notification types).
• App preferences and Keepsake Unlock purchase state.

Optional iCloud Backup

Backup is off by default. If you enable it, your journey is backed up to your own iCloud account using Apple's infrastructure, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your data never touches Culi servers, and we have no access to your iCloud data.

On-Device Smart Features

Smart Align (which detects you in a photo to keep framing consistent) and reflection prompts run entirely on your device. Your photos are never sent anywhere for processing.

How We Use Your Data

• Core functionality: to build your week-by-week journey, align photos, and render your time-lapse — all locally.
• Notifications: to deliver the weekly reminder and optional milestone or export nudges you configure. These are scheduled on-device.
• Purchases: to verify the Keepsake Unlock entitlement via Apple.
• We never use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No photos, notes, or health information on our servers — ever.
• No account creation, email addresses, or contact lists.
• No behavioral tracking, advertising identifiers, or cross-app profiling.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data.

Third-Party Services

• Apple iCloud / CloudKit — optional backup to your own iCloud account, only if you enable it.
• Apple StoreKit / RevenueCat — one-time purchase processing and entitlement management for the Keepsake Unlock. We never see your payment details.
• Apple notifications — weekly reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device.

In-App Purchases

The Keepsake Unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and you can restore it anytime with Restore Purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details or Apple Account credentials.

Sensitive Moments & Deletion

You can pause reminders, hide your journey, or permanently delete all photos, notes, and data with one tap in Settings. Deletion is immediate and complete on your device — there is no server copy to remove, no exit survey, and no follow-up. Little Lapse is a personal keepsake and journal and is not medical advice.

Children’s Privacy

Little Lapse is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. No account or personal information is required to use the app.

Your Rights

• Access all of your data in the app — it lives on your device.
• Delete any photo, note, or your entire journey at any time.
• Opt out of notifications in iOS Settings or in-app.
• Disable iCloud backup at any time.
• Restore your one-time purchase on a new device.

Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling the app (or using Delete all photos & data) permanently removes it. iCloud backups, if enabled, are managed through your Apple ID settings.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
