Private & Encrypted

Only people you explicitly invite into a care circle can see that circle's information. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and stored in our secure backend (Supabase) with row-level security so each circle's data is isolated. We do not show ads and we never sell your information.

Sign in with Apple

Kindred uses Sign in with Apple as its only sign-in method, so there is no separate password to create or remember. We receive only the limited information you choose to share through Apple. We never post on your behalf or contact your family without your say-so.

Data You Store

• Care recipient profiles (name or nickname, optional photo and date of birth).
• Medications, doses, schedules, and the history of doses marked taken, late, or skipped.
• Appointments, locations, and who is responsible for them.
• Documents you add to the vault and the categories you file them under.
• Care notes, symptoms, and questions you log for doctor visits.
• Care circle members, their roles, and the permissions you grant them.

The Document Vault & Sensitive Information

Documents in the vault are encrypted, and you choose exactly who in your circle can see each one through granular permissions.

Important: Kindred is for storing where to find things, not the keys themselves. Please do not store passwords, full bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or credit card numbers. For credentials, we recommend a dedicated password manager. This protects your family's most sensitive information.

Sharing With Your Care Circle

You are always in control of your circle. You decide who is invited and what each person can see — for example, all siblings can see medical information while only one person can see financial documents. You can change permissions anytime and remove someone instantly. You may also designate a legacy contact who can access the vault if something happens.

How We Use Your Data

• Core functionality: to organize care, send reminders, and keep your care circle in sync.
• Reminders: to deliver medication, refill, and appointment notifications you have configured.
• Doctor summaries: to generate a summary on your device when you request one.
• We never use your data for advertising, and we never sell it.

No Medical Advice

Kindred organizes, reminds, and summarizes only. It does not diagnose conditions, check drug interactions, or provide medical or dosing advice, and it is not a medical device. Always rely on qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Advertising profiles or cross-app tracking identifiers — there are no ads.
• Passwords, account credentials, or payment card details.
• Behavioral tracking used to target or sell to you.
• We never sell your personal information.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase — encrypted, access-controlled storage and sync for your care circle.
• Apple Sign-In — authentication without a separate password.
• Apple StoreKit / RevenueCat — subscription processing and entitlement management.
• Firebase — push notifications for reminders and aggregate diagnostics to improve reliability.

In-App Purchases

Kindred Together subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit, with entitlements managed by RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details, Apple Account credentials, or billing address. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period and can be managed in your Apple Account settings.

Children’s Privacy

Kindred is designed for adult caregivers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

• Access all of your data within the app.
• Export everything you store at any time, in Settings.
• Delete any or all of your data, or delete your account.
• Remove care circle members and change their permissions instantly.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in Apple Account settings.

Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active so your care circle stays in sync across devices. When you delete data or your account, it is removed from our systems. You can export everything before you go — your information belongs to you.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
