TrueMeter ("we", "our", or "the app") is a sound, light, and level measurement app for iOS made by Culi Studio. It is built so that your data stays yours: there are no accounts, no sign-up, and no server of ours that receives your content — we do not operate one.
Your sessions, saved light spots, and settings live on your device and nowhere else. This policy explains what little the app handles and your rights. The App Store privacy label for TrueMeter reads "Data Not Collected", and it is accurate.
Private by Design
TrueMeter works fully offline with no account and no sign-up. Every measurement session, saved light spot, and preference is stored locally on your device. There is no Culi Studio server, so there is nothing for us to receive, read, or store.
Audio Is Never Recorded
The Sound Meter processes microphone input in real time to compute sound pressure levels. Audio is analysed in memory and discarded immediately — it is never recorded to a file, saved, or transmitted anywhere. What TrueMeter keeps is the resulting numbers: decibel levels over time, with no recoverable audio content.
Camera Frames Are Never Saved
The Light Meter estimates illuminance by reading the camera's exposure settings. Frames are processed live to derive a lux estimate and are never written to disk, stored in your photo library, or transmitted. Only the estimated value and any name you give a saved spot are kept.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Recorded sessions: duration, min, average, max, Leq, and the sound level time series.
- Any location note you choose to add to a session.
- Saved light spots and the names you give them.
- Calibration offsets, threshold alert settings, and app preferences such as units, appearance, and haptics.
Permissions We Request
- Microphone — requested only when you open the Sound Meter, and used only to compute levels.
- Camera — requested only when you open the Light Meter, and used only to estimate light.
- The Level & Vibration tool requires no permission at all; motion sensors need none.
- If you only use the Level tool, you will never be asked for microphone or camera access.
What We Never Collect
- No analytics, no usage tracking, and no crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising identifiers and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No location — TrueMeter contains no GPS or location code.
- No accounts, no email addresses, no contacts, and no third-party ads.
Sharing and Exports
CSV and PDF exports are generated on your device and go only where you send them via the standard iOS share sheet. Anything you email, message, or save to Files is your action and leaves the app under your control — we receive no copy.
Purchases
TrueMeter Pro is a single non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never receive or store your name, email, payment card details, or Apple Account credentials — only an anonymous entitlement indicating whether Pro is unlocked. Restore Purchases works through your Apple Account.
Third-Party Services
- Apple StoreKit — processes the one-time TrueMeter Pro purchase and manages the entitlement.
- That is the complete list. TrueMeter integrates no analytics, advertising, or backend services of any kind.
Children’s Privacy
TrueMeter is rated 4+ and does not collect personal information from any users, including children. No account or personal information is required to use the app.
Not a Certified Instrument
TrueMeter provides reference measurements from your device's built-in sensors for general and educational use. It is not a certified measuring instrument and is not intended for medical, safety, legal, or occupational-compliance purposes. Sound readings are limited by microphone hardware and very loud sounds may read low; light readings are comparative estimates.
Deleting Your Data
Settings → Reset all data permanently deletes every session and saved spot from your device. Deleting the app removes everything as well. Because there is no server copy, there is nothing else for us to delete.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
