Unfiller ("we", "our", or "the app") is a filler word counter and speech practice app for iPhone made by Culi Studio. It is built around one rule: your voice is recorded, transcribed and analysed on your device and never leaves it.
There is no account, no email address and no password. This policy explains exactly what is stored, what the one purchase involves, and your rights.
On-Device by Design
Everything Unfiller does with your voice happens on your iPhone. Audio is recorded to the app’s private storage on the device, transcribed with Apple’s on-device speech recognition, and analysed for filler words, pace and pauses locally. On supported devices, the optional one-line tip under your results is also generated on the device. Your recordings and transcripts are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we have no server holding them and no way to hear or read them.
There is no sign-up, no account and no email address. Recording and analysis work fully offline.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Your recordings: the audio of each take, stored in the app’s private storage.
- Your results: the transcript of each take with word timings, the filler words found, words per minute, pauses, the practice mode and prompt you used, and which take a retake followed.
- Settings: your filler word list, pause threshold, whether recordings are excluded from iCloud backup, and how many free analyses you have used.
- Whether Pro has been purchased.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
Unfiller asks for microphone and speech recognition access the first time you tap Record, because it cannot count your filler words without both. Speech recognition is run with on-device recognition required, so your audio is not sent to Apple or anyone else to be transcribed. The microphone is only used while you are recording a take, and Unfiller never records in the background.
iCloud Backup
Like most apps, Unfiller’s data is included in your device’s iCloud backup by default, which is a standard iOS behaviour under your Apple Account and not a copy we can access. Settings › Exclude from iCloud backup removes your recordings from that backup if you would rather they existed only on the phone.
Exporting and Sharing
With Pro you can export a transcript. The export is created on your device and handed to whatever destination you choose through the standard iOS share sheet — where it goes afterwards is under your control and governed by the app or service you send it to.
The Pro Purchase
Pro is a single non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. We never receive or store your name, email address, payment details or Apple Account credentials. Restore Purchases works through your Apple Account, and Family Sharing is enabled.
What We Never Collect
- No accounts, email addresses or passwords — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No copies of your recordings or transcripts, anywhere off your device.
- No analytics on your audio, usage tracking or behavioural profiling.
- No advertising identifiers, no ads, and no data sold, rented or shared with third parties.
- No contacts, photos or location access.
Third-Party Services
- Apple StoreKit — processing the one-time Pro purchase and restoring it on your devices.
- Apple on-device speech recognition — transcribing your takes on the iPhone, with nothing sent off it.
- That is the complete list. Unfiller integrates no analytics or advertising services.
Deleting Your Data
Swipe any take in the session list to delete it, or use Settings › Delete all recordings to remove every recording and transcript from the device. There is no server copy, so there is nothing left behind to request. Deleting the app removes all local data as well. Transcripts you have exported are yours and live wherever you saved them.
Children
Unfiller collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and requires no account.
