Offline-First Design

BillWise works entirely offline. No account creation or sign-up is required. All your bill data, payment records, streaks, and gamification progress are stored locally on your device by default. We do not require internet access for core functionality.

Data Stored Locally

• Bills you create (name, type, amounts, cutoff dates, due dates, billing cycles).
• Payment records and completion history.
• Streak records, XP, level progress, and achievement badges.
• Notification preferences and reminder settings.
• App preferences (theme, currency, quiet hours).

iCloud Sync (Optional)

• If you enable iCloud Sync, your bill data is synced across your devices using Apple CloudKit.
• This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• We do not have access to your iCloud data.

How We Use Your Data

• Core Functionality: To track your bills, calculate due dates, and display your payment dashboard and forecasts.
• Notifications: To send bill reminders, cutoff date alerts, and due date warnings you have configured.
• Gamification: To calculate XP, level progress, streaks, and achievement badges — all processed locally on device.
• iCloud Sync: To sync your data across Apple devices, only if you opt in.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Financial account numbers, bank details, or credit card numbers.
• Behavioral tracking or usage analytics.
• Advertisements or advertiser data sharing.
• Email addresses or personal account information.

Third-Party Services

• Apple CloudKit — iCloud Sync for Premium users who opt in.
• Apple StoreKit / RevenueCat — In-app purchase and subscription management.
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — Local and push notifications for bill reminders.

Your Rights

• Access all your data — it is stored locally on your device and fully visible in the app.
• Export your data as CSV or PDF (Premium feature).
• Delete any or all data at any time by removing bills or deleting the app.
• Opt out of push notifications via iOS Settings.
• Disable iCloud Sync at any time in Settings.

Children\u{2019}s Privacy

BillWise is rated 4+ and does not collect personal information from any users, including children. No account or personal information is required to use the app.

Data Retention

All data is stored on your device and retained for as long as you keep the app installed. We do not retain any data on external servers. If you uninstall the app, all local data is permanently removed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
