Privacy Policy

Local-First by Default

Reset is built so the meaningful parts of your wind-down stay on your device. No account creation or sign-up is required. Your journal entries, ritual history, ritual preferences, and reminder times are stored locally. We do not operate servers that store your personal content.

Data Stored Locally

• Journal entries you write during journaling rituals.
• Ritual completion history and the nights you showed up.
• Your chosen reset time, ritual preferences, and notification settings.
• Subscription status managed by Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat.

Anonymous Usage Analytics (Optional)

• If you accept the consent prompt in onboarding (or enable it later in Settings), Reset sends anonymous product-interaction events to Firebase Analytics to help us understand which rituals are used and where the app is confusing.
• Events are tied to a device-scoped identifier (Apple IDFV) only. We do not link them to a name, email, Apple ID, or third-party identity.
• You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings under "Share anonymous usage". Disabling stops new events immediately.
• We do not use the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How We Use Your Data

• Core Functionality: To pick tonight\u{2019}s ritual, run the timer, save your journal entries locally, and send the local notification at your chosen reset time.
• Subscription: To verify Reset Plus entitlement via Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat.
• Improving the App: To understand anonymous usage patterns when you opt in \u{2014} which rituals are popular, where people drop off, what to fix next.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your journal text, ritual history, or reminder times never leave your device.
• No name, email, Apple ID, or phone number is collected for core functionality.
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA) are accessed and we do not show third-party ads.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
• We do not retain personal content on external servers.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Analytics (Google) \u{2014} Anonymous usage events when you opt in.
• RevenueCat \u{2014} Subscription entitlement management for Reset Plus.
• Apple StoreKit \u{2014} In-app purchase processing for Reset Plus.
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) \u{2014} Local notifications for your reset time. No remote push server is operated by us.

Your Rights

• Access all your data \u{2014} it lives on your device and is fully visible in the app.
• Delete any journal entry or wipe all data via Settings > "Reset all data".
• Opt out of anonymous analytics at any time in Settings.
• Opt out of notifications via iOS Settings.
• Manage or cancel your Reset Plus subscription via Apple\u{2019}s subscription settings.

Children’s Privacy

Reset is rated 4+ and does not collect personal information from any users, including children. No account or personal information is required to use the app.

Data Retention

All personal content is stored on your device and retained for as long as you keep the app installed. Anonymous analytics events, when enabled, are retained per Firebase\u{2019}s standard retention policies and are not linked to your identity. Uninstalling the app removes all local data permanently.
